Weekly Roundup: March 29th

Hello and welcome to the weekly roundup where each Sunday we look back at some of the news items making the headlines over the past seven days.

On Tuesday it emerged that a 73-year-old Dutch man, who was one of three men found with almost €5m worth of cannabis herb and resin, was jailed for seven years

On Tuesday it emerged that a man was jailed for 18 months for the cultivation of cannabis plants worth €212,000 on his farm

On Wednesday it was reported that a DJ has been jailed for five years for helping to traffic €1.5m worth of cannabis into the country

On Wednesday it was reported that a pensioner was jailed for possession of almost €5 million worth of cannabis

On Thursday it emerged a man who claimed his ‘Tomato plants miraculously converted themselves into cannabis plants’ was given an eight-month sentence which was suspended for two years

On Thursday the Irish Independent reported on how Indonesian police accidentally got an entire neighbourhood high

On Saturday it was reported that four men were arrested after cannabis worth €150,000 was seized in Dublin

On Saturday it emerged that a man was fined €200 for unlawfully possessing a small amount of cannabis

On Saturday it was reported that a teenager found with a bag of cannabis worth €20 was given the Probation Act
