Hello and welcome to the weekly roundup where each Sunday we look back at some of the news items making the headlines over the past seven days.
On Monday it was reported that Stella the sniffer dog had uncovered cannabis worth €300,000 in a parcel.
It was reported on Wednesday that fresh charges were to be brought against three individuals over a €600,000 cannabis haul in Cork earlier this year.
On Saturday it was reported that a man was fined €150 for €5 worth of cannabis in Wexford.
It was also reported on Saturday that two Vietnamese nationals apparently ‘trafficked into the country’ to cultivate cannabis were released from jail
Today it was reported that GW Pharma, the company behind Sativex, has seen its shares rise nine-fold.
It was reported this week that medicinal cannabis user and activist Mark Fitzsimons, who was a candidate in the European elections, and who handed himself into Gardai to challenge the legal status of cannabis has been given the go-ahead for his case.
It was also reported that over 2700 individuals had completed the National Student Drug Survey 2014, the findings should make for some interesting data.
